MRZEŻYNO

(German: Deep, or Treptower Deep, after 1930 often Regamünde) is a village with a fishing seaport in Gryfice County. This is also a health resort with a lots of pensions, campsites and spa. It is located near the estuary of the Rega river. The village has a popular beach. Every year in July and August, Mrzeżyno is visited by many Polish and German tourists. The right riverside is more developed than left, where there is only one settlement. The population numbers 1,727[1](2009). The village is situated by a special area of the conservation of nature according to the European Union‘s program Natura 2000. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Trzebiatów, 27 km (17 mi) north of Gryfice, and 94 km (58 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin.

In the 1920s Lyonel Feininger often came to the Treptower Deep to paint and reside.

The first postwar Poland’s Wedding to the Sea was performed in Mrzeżyno on 17 March 1945, as Regamünde became part of Poland, according to the Potsdam Conference which ceded most of the German province of Pomerania to the People’s Republic of Poland.

TRZEBIATOWSKO-KOŁOBRZESKI NADMORSKI BAND –  Mrzeżyno is located in the middle of a vast area of ​​protection “Natura 2000”, which was called Trzebiatowsko-Kołobrzeski Belt Nadmorski. It is an exceptionally valuable area, stretching along the coast from Niechorze to Gąski. It is mainly occupied by low-lying meadows and thickets. It is a habitat area of ​​a large number of aquatic and water-mud species. One can meet, among others, the king of Bielik’s space.
There are also lagoon lakes: Liwia-Łuża, Konarzewo, Resko Przymorskie, which occupy the areas of cryptodepression and are relics of ancient sea bays.

JEZIORO “RESKO PRZYMORSKIE” German: Kamper See) – In the direction of Kołobrzeg, between the villages of Rogowo and Dźwiżyno, there is one of the greatest attractions of Mrzeżyno, or the lake “Resko Przymorskie”. It is famous for two reasons. First of all, it is a protected area of ​​Natura 2000. It was created due to the fact that its area is a breeding ground for water-marsh birds (13 breeding species were identified, 4 of which were threatened with extinction) and a mainstay for migratory louse birds.
The second big attraction of this lake is the Dornier Do-24 T3 plane lying down on the bottom, shot down on March 5, 1945, the extraction of which is worked, among others, by members of the Fort-Rogowo Foundation based in nearby Rogów. If the operation of pulling out the wreck is successful, you can admire it in the Museum of Aviation and Military Technology
